In 2021, the Murbly process started with the aim of making electric vehicle charging accessible to all the condo owners of this 173-unit condominium in Île-des-Soeurs.
Installation Approach
In order to promote the harmonious installation of electrical equipment and wires in the garage and the electrical room, the syndicate opted for the Global Approach. As a result, all the units in the building now have access to charging from their designated parking space.
Charging Solution
Given that some of the electric meters are located on the roof (inaccessible) and the others are located in the underground garage (accessible), two separate charging solutions have been adopted: the charge controller for units with an accessible meter, and the smart panel for units with an inaccessible meter.
Set Up
By contacting Murbly, the condo association was able to benefit from its expertise to present the project to the condo owners and then to gauge their interest in carrying it out. An energy capacity study was carried out by the engineering consultancy firm Équipe SP. Following the results of this study, the condo association was able to select an electrical contractor to carry out the installation work, which took place in 2022.
Installation
In 2022, the contractor installed 4 charging stations, 2 smart SMP panels and DCC charge controllers.
