Following the successful charger installations for the first installation group, the board organized a second group for interested tenants.
Charging Solution
Two distinct charging solutions were adopted at the time of the organization of the first group: for units where the electricity meter is accessible from the parking space, the Electric Vehicle Energy Management System was chosen. For inaccessible meters, a second meter would be added to provide power to the EV charger.
Since this energy capacity study was done, this solution of adding a second meter is no longer accepted by utilities and new technologies are now available. In a context of inaccessible meters, it is now suggested to install a smart panel.
Set Up
The set-up proceeded similarly to that of the first group. However, since scaffolds were needed, the piping on the ceiling was installed for present installations as well as future ones. This way, traffic in the garage won’t be obstructed by scaffolding during future installations.
Installation
In February 2021, 11 FLO G5 chargers, 7 DCC-9-40A and 4 new electricity meters were installed by the same electrical contractor who had done the work for the first group.
