Following the successful charger installations for the first and second installation groups, the board organized a third group for interested tenants.

Charging Solution

Two distinct charging solutions were adopted at the time of the organization of the first group: for units where the electricity meter is accessible from the parking space, the Electric Vehicle Energy Management System (EVEMS) was chosen. For inaccessible meters, a second meter would be added to provide power to the EV chargers.

Since this energy capacity study was done, this solution of adding a second meter is no longer accepted by utilities and new technologies are now available. In a context of inaccessible meters, it is now suggested to install a smart panel.

Installation

From May to June 2021, 7 FLO G5 chargers, 6 EVEMS and 1 new electricity meter were installed by the same electrical contractor who had done the work for the first and second installation group. Since one of the tenants was still awaiting delivery of his Porshe charger, a junction box was installed to secure the installed wiring.
