Following the successful launch of Phase 1, the ChargeYYC program is now moving into its next stage. While Phase 1 was all about the planning, Phase 2 is offering financial support to install real, working EV charging infrastructure.
If you’re new to ChargeYYC, we recommend reading our Phase 1 overview first. It explains how the City of Calgary kickstarted this initiative by helping buildings get ready for the shift to electric vehicles.
What’s New in Phase 2?
Phase 2 of ChargeYYC focuses on installation. It provides funding to support the electrical work and hardware needed to make EV charging a reality in shared buildings.

- Improve resident satisfaction
- Reduce long-term operating risks
- Align with citywide climate and transportation goals
